What is Elsa?
Elsa is inspired by co-living which originated from Denmark and Sweden in the early twentieth century.
Elsa is a new intelligent, modern form of home sharing in which individuals live together with other likeminded people, with the added benefit of having independent living spaces where they can retreat to.
It allows for increased freedom and flexibility by providing one monthly payment that includes rent and an all-inclusive capped billing package, reliable internet, and ways of making new friendships and business contacts.
Who is an Elsa home for?
Living in an Elsa home is for anyone who values their independence, but at the same time wants a convenient way of living, surrounded by likeminded individuals.
It could be your first home after graduating, your home in a new city, your main home or your home away from home.
How many people live in an Elsa home?
ELSA rooms are usually single occupancy. Current ELSA homes have three or four ELSA rooms.
How much does it cost?
All our rooms are doubles with ensuite shower rooms, they currently start from £500 per week including all bills.
What is the difference between Elsa room types?
The main difference is size, all rooms are doubles and include an ensuite shower.
What is included in the price?
One payment each month combines your rent and a comprehensive bills packages. This bills package covers council tax, utility bills, WIFI and TV-licence for the property as well as cleaning of the communal areas.
I want to join; how do I secure my room?
In order to secure your room, we need £150 as a holding fee. It is non-refundable should you choose not to move in, and secures your room for a month. There will also be a £300 deposit payable upon move in.
How do I pay my rent?
Rent can easily be paid automatically each month via Standing Order on the 1st of the month. This will all be set up when you sign the lease. Ultimately, we want to make living in an Elsa home as easy as possible for you.
Can I decorate my room?
Please make yourself at home, you are welcome to hang pictures in your room, however please make sure that the walls are made good before moving out. Any damage incurred will come out of your damage deposit when you leave.
How often is the house cleaned?
All communal parts of the houses are cleaned weekly. An exact schedule will be provided.
What is the length of tenancy?
The minimum length of a tenancy is six months, after this period two months’ notice is required.
What happens to my contract if I want to leave early?
If you want to leave before your contract ends, please let us know and we can help you find someone to take your room. However, ultimately it is your responsibility to find someone to take over the remaining time left.
Are there rooms available for couples?
In some ELSA homes the master bedroom is suitable for couples to share, please enquire for further information.
What is provided in my room?
The rooms are fully furnished and include a double bed, side tables, chest of drawers, wardrobe, desk/dressing table console and an ensuite shower room.
What is provided in the communal space?
Kitchens are fully fitted and include all the usual appliances. Dining areas re equipped to comfortably seat everyone and lounge area include ample comfy seating and a flat panel TV.
Is there a curfew?
There is no curfew, but we do ask you to be respectful to other residents and neighbours at all times.
Can I sublet my room?
Subletting of your room, or any other part of your Elsa home is strictly prohibited by the terms of the lease. This may result in your being forced to leave your Elsa home, and will be liable for any charges occurred in doing so.
Are pets allowed?
Unfortunately pets are not allowed.
