Where to Eat and Drink in Salford Quays
Whilst you are only ten minutes on a tram to Manchester’s vibrant city centre from our ELSA homes in Salford, even closer and just a short walk away there is a wide variety of places to eat and drink. Here we pick some of our favorite, whether it’s a bite to eat at lunch, a couple of drinks after work or a full blow-out three course meal and a vibrant night out you are after:
Pokusevski’s began life in Heaton Moor in 2005 as a delicatessen Inspired by Modern European, Middle Eastern & British influences and spirit. Since then the original shop has developed into an all-day eatery. It is an independent Deli & Cafe Bar offering Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner all homemade and freshly prepared on the premises. Complemented by an extensive drinks list from early morning coffees to wines & cocktails.

The Dockyard is a rustic ale house with a relaxed dining operation that offers a simple, quick and tasty breakfast menu. The Lunch and dinner menu features a selection of handmade/ artisan burgers and pies with the onus being on great food delivered quickly at a good price. The hot dogs and burgers are both well recommended and excellent value.

Lime is an independent restaurant and bar and has become something of an institution in Salford Quays, being one of the first to set up home in the area. It was stablished in 2001 by David Vanderhook, whose career has included periods as personal chef to, amongst others, the Rothchild family, Valentino, King Hussein of Jordan and the Aga Khan. All of its food is freshly prepared onsite and it offers an extensive range of drinks from its bar.

Pier 8 Restaurant and Bar at the Lowry Arts Centre offers a stunning restaurant and bar experience. Both stylish and contemporary, the restaurant overlooks the dramatic skyline of Salford Quays and Media City. Its ethos throughout both its restaurant and bar is contemporary British flavours using fresh, seasonal ingredients and it offers and excellently priced early evening menu, perfect for before you catch a show at one of theatre in the complex.

With a beautiful interior décor, On the 7th is a private members bar with events space and a screening room, with views out over the square and water at MediaCityUK, aimed at the local media set.

A South American restaurant and bar specializing in Argentinian steaks, homemade burgers, salads and sandwiches, defiantly one for the carnivores!

Penelope's Kitchen is based in the Pie factory at MediaCityUK. A princes trust start up with a northern quarter/NYC feel Penelope's support local suppliers and makes all dishes from scratch.
Its ethos is to make homemade dishes, often with a NYC twist using locally sourced ingredients. Passionate about their ingredients they are able to tell you where the meat is from, when the fruit was picked, when your food was made, and who made it - everything they sell is homemade including their famous burgers, chili and healthy dishes.

The famous Japanese-inspired noodle chain has set up shop at MediaCityUK, offering its well-loved menu of freshly prepared juices, soups, noodles and salads.
